On Tuesday, Amy Schumer introduced her new boyfriend to the world [read: Instagram]. News that her new man is 1.) a regular guy and 2.) a hot furniture designer nearly made the internet implode and caused waves of giddy female exclamations. The boyfriend, Ben Hanisch of Chicago, is very handsome. But it's not just his looks that have women all over the country blushing—it's also his profession. According to The Cut (and every woman since the dawn of civilization), carpenters are hot. Men who can build things have strong arms and hands and they can probably build a beautiful mid-century modern cabin. "If we really break it down, I think the appreciation all boils down to this: The Carpenter/Furniture-Maker probably built the bed he’s about to do you on. Good work, Amy." But what other professions provide the same kind of fodder for sexy day dreams? We asked a handful of the women of GQ, also known as SheQ, what the sexiest fantasy boyfriend jobs are. Here's what we found out. Not surprisingly, jobs that involve making things with one's hands topped the list.

• Welder

• Monument Designer

• Painter ("But one who is not insane.")

• Micro-Greens Farmer ("Because he can bring life forth from seeds and soil.") • Cellist ("Good at the whole straddling thing, also the fast manual work up top.") • Nurse ("Compassionate, caring, defiant of gender norms; also an expert at drawing a warm bath.") • L.L. Bean Model ("A really hot guy posing as a man who works with his hands.") Jobs that involve adventure, but not too much actual danger, were also popular.

• Spy ("Hate guns, love snipers.")

• Explorer ("But only of safe areas.")

• Forest Fire Fighter

Jobs that require high levels of cultural status, knowledge, and great book collections are apparently sexy as f@#k. • Archaeologist ("Hot Indiana Jones archaeology professor, who has fossils and good glasses but is also young and really tan.")

• Professor

• Museum Curator ("All about that intellectual status. Also collecting things is hot. Books, fossils, art...")

• Sommelier

The classics made it on the list as well, but with a nice-guy caveat. • Doctor ("If he has a chill schedule that allows me to be a #priority, but is also a top doctor in the world?")

• Lawyer ("The kind with a conscience.")

As for the least sexy jobs, sorry guys: The list was short but strongly emphasized anything having to do with video games or selling weed.

Is 50 too old to start an apprenticeship?

Been out of school for a while? Don’t sweat it.

You definitely don’t need a high school certificate to apply for an apprenticeship or traineeship and it’s never too late to start. Each year we help thousands of adult workers change careers, or re-enter the workforce into a different role. It’s a huge part of what we do – we’d almost go as far to say we’re specialists in it. There’s also a formal acknowledgment called ‘recognition of prior learning’ – which means we know that with your age comes maturity, reliability, life experience and possibly some previous formal training. There’s a chance we can help you to get these skills recognised, which can help shorten your training time and get you qualified sooner. If you’ve been doing the same gig for many years and think it’s time for a change, or you want a qualification in your field to help you progress in your current role, an apprenticeship or traineeship could be your next best move.
