Soundproofing the walls, doors, and windows should be more than enough to block out all the noise from the neighbors. However, you can decide to take it a notch higher and get soundproof curtains. Soundproofing curtains will especially be a great investment when it comes to deadening sound at night.

Of course, the best solution for this would be to get a new door altogether. However, this is an expensive option so you may want to try out a couple of other alternatives to reduce noise from neighbors instead. For sound to get to your house from the neighbors, it is likely that there are certain gaps and holes in the door. Gaps, however small, will let sound into your house. It is, therefore, important to seal the gaps on the doors, especially the main door. For the gaps, you can use a sealant like this and use it all around the edges of the door. Sealants are usually vinyl or neoprene strips that are usually airtight and it is that property that makes them sound absorbing. Using the sealants to close up all the gaps may not seem like a big deal. However, you will notice the difference once you are done. What’s great about soundproofing from noisy neighbors is that there are removable soundproofing solutions which are ideal for people who are not owning their home. In case you’re switching places, you can always leave the door or walls in the same condition they were, and you can also take the soundproof installation with you so you can reuse it in your new apartment. Apart from the gaps, you can decide to use a door sweep. For most doors, there's usually a gap between the door and the floor and it is here that most sound passes through. Door sweeps are placed at the bottom of the door and seal the gap whenever the door is closed. They do this by creating a compression that makes it airtight and therefore, blocks sound from getting through.

Soundproofing your ceiling can also be an option if you have your kids rooms’ upstairs. Children can be quite noisy and if you want your peace and quiet in the house, I suggest you start working on the ceiling. For the ceiling, you can decide to add a drop ceiling to your existing ceiling. This is usually installed below the existing drywall and it is the space between that helps to isolate the noise. You may also decide to invest in acoustical clouds for the ceiling. You can choose the desired surface patterns and get to block sound at the same time. Drop ceilings may not look as good so you may opt out of this option. You can decide to add another layer of drywall as well. Simply buy a drywall and install it using screws onto the existing ceiling. For better effectiveness, you can use an acoustical mat in between the layers. Read about acoustic ceiling here.
