Read More »Deck foot anchors offer perhaps the easiest installation process of any footing. They are comprised of an auger attached to a metal plate. They are installed by using an impact driver to drive the auger into the earth, securing the footing to the ground. Once in place, 4×4 posts are secured to the metal plate with galvanized deck nails. The bracket is adjustable, allowing you to slide it left or right three inches, so you don’t need to be completely precise when installing the auger. With deck anchors, your deck can be built as low as 2” from the underside of the beams to surface grade or as high as 6’ from the top of the deck to grade. If your deck is higher than 18”, you will need to brace the posts to the beams and joists.
