Do metal sheds need to be anchored?

The base for a metal shed is important as, unless you have purchased a separate timber floor kit, this will also provide the floor for your shed. Metal sheds are typically anchored directly into their concrete base.

Excellent company fantastic communication with customers. Summer house was delivered to school on time and within delivery slot. The delivery driver was very helpful to the point of lending us some wheels to move the panels to the insterlation site. The communication I had with Natalie was second to none from the first phone call to the last email. She is a credit to the company and very professional. After explaining to Natalie what the summer house was going to be used for at school, and wanting the best quality my budget could afford I placed my order. Within days I received an email from Natalie offering me a free upgrade worth not hundreds of pounds but thousands. I can't thank this company enough for their kindness and generosity. This was not all. During the build process of the summerhouse Natalie continued to keep me informed of the progress and offered me a few choices to the build design on several occasions. The summer house was delivered in ready made panels, the framework is very strong and thick, very well built. I was even given boxes of screws and nails along with build instructions to assemble the summer house so no extra purchases were necessary. The only extra purchase I have to make is the choice wood preservative or paint. I would highly recommend this company to anyone looking for an excellent quality product. I will definitely use Sheds First again for any other purchases needed to develop our schools outdoor projects. I can't thank you enough for your generosity, excellent service and communication from the first call right through the process to end product and delivery service. The summer house will provide an excellent ooutdoor provision for our very special pupils who also send you a big thanks. Well done Sheds First keep up your excellent work and I'm sure your business will prosper for meny years to come. I wish you well. Thank you from one happy HLTA and the very excited special children and young people I have the privilege and pleasure to work with.

Is it cheaper to buy a house or build one?

In general, buying an existing home is cheaper. According to the National Association of Home Builders and the U.S. Census Bureau the median cost to buy a house today is $410,600 which is $28,800 less than building one.

Pros and cons: Building a house

You can build a basic home for about $150 per square foot1. But it’s easy to spend $500 per square foot if you want the best of everything. Still, building your own home means you’ll be paying for things you really want, like a large eat-in kitchen—and not items you may not need, like a separate formal dining room. Get ideas on building a unique dream home that fits your life. Another plus is that new homes come with fewer long-term costs. For example, new homes with more energy-efficient building materials may mean lower utility bills. Also, new homes tend to have fewer repairs and may have lower maintenance costs. Finally, newer homes may return a higher rate when you’re ready to sell. On the downside, construction timelines are longer today than they were a few years ago due to labor shortages and difficulties sourcing construction materials. The U.S. Census Bureau reports that the average time it takes to build a home is 6.8 months, but that can easily extend to a year or more for owner-built homes. And you’ll have to budget for a place to live while your new home is being built. Demand is also up, making the cost of building your dream home rise as well. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the average price of a new-construction home has gone up $84,700 over the same time last year.
