We provide a 10-year guarantee with our UPVC spraying service which means we expect the finish to last at least 10 years. During this period your paint will stay the same without degradation so long as it isn’t damaged in that time. The main concern our customers have with regards to the longevity of UPVC paint is weathering. The paints we use are designed for outdoor use. They are engineered to be non-permeable when dry. So long as the UPVC surface is cleaned thoroughly and necessary prep work carried out before the paint is sprayed, there will be no reason for the paint to lift or flake away. The finish will last. When paint does begin lifting away from UPVC this is because something has gotten between the paint and UPVC. This may be water, dust, or just air. This can happen for any number of reasons. On new jobs, it happens because of poor surface preparation. Please note this has never happened to us and we’ve only seen it on jobs we have had to remedy after the cowboys had their fun. Like all paints, UPVC paint can be damaged by paint thinners, mineral spirits, solvents and similar products. It is also susceptible to abrasion and although it offers a low friction finish rubbing it with an abrasive will scratch it. For example cleaning the paint with a scouring pad is likely to leave behind surface scratches. The finish is durable though so don’t feel the need to tiptoe around it when doing a spot of gardening.

The bottom line

Having operated in this industry for more than 20 years now we know a good job when we see it and we can assure you a good job will last at least 10 years. Some of the houses we sprayed more than 10 years ago still look as good as new. All our work is guaranteed for 10-years and we’ve hundreds of happy customers. Call us on for a quote.

Why is my uPVC Door/Window Frame Leaking?

A common question we get asked is, why is my uPVC door or window frame leaking?

People might not realise that uPVC is designed to allow water to run off the window and door into the frame and then to drain out from the frame. Every uPVC door and window will have drainage holes in the frame if the drainage holes become blocked, your door and window will appear to leak.

You might think your uPVC is leaking if you see this:

Water coming from at the bottom of the door.

Water on the window sill from the frame.

The good news is that there is nothing wrong with your uPVC door or window frame and this is how they are designed to work. You simply need to unblock the drainage holes – and that’s really easy. Watch our Everest Expert show you where the drainage holes are in the frame and how to clean them.
