A galvanized steel shed isn't as heavy as other structures and can be placed directly on ground that is compacted undisturbed soil. If, however, a galvanized steel shed doesn't come with a floor frame, then using gravel is a big help when leveling the area and raising the shed's flooring to the level of the shed door's threshold. In most cases, gravel is not only an acceptable solution, but a preferred one, according to Best in Backyards. Further, it drains better than a flat, concrete pad, reports Site Prep.
