First, there may be local zoning laws that affect the size of outbuildings allowed on your property. Second, you obviously don’t want to invest in a shed that’s too much larger than the things you need to store. Extra-large sheds take up valuable backyard space and, of course, cost more. So, let’s break this down. At 200 square feet, is a 10×20 shed too big or too small for you? Well, it depends on what your main planned usage is. (I know, that’s a vague answer!) Do you plan on using it for storage or is this going to be your next man cave, she shed, or your kid’s playhouse? 10×20 shed is a fairly large size and there are many options when it comes to choosing the interior layout. It might be a good idea to get out a tape measure and figure out the size of some of the main items you plan to place in your shed. Then, you can create a scale drawing that will give a pretty good idea of whether a 10×20 shed will fit your needs
