It also meets or surpasses building code requirements for fire safety, strength, and sound transmission. This Plywood is CDX graded meaning the “C” side has a more rough surface with visible knots and splits. The “D” side is even rougher with a lot more noticeable knots and splits when compared to C. The letter “X” indicates the kind of glue utilized in the production line to bond the plywood veneers. It also represents exposure, which implies the plywood is sturdy enough to withstand a little moisture, though for a brief span only.
