Lifetime and Keter are both premium brands, specialising the manufacturer of plastic buildings and storage. Plastic is a fantastic material to use for sheds, as we have previously discussed in a past blog. The Keter Oakland 11×7 Shed and Lifetime 15×8 Shed are two of our favourite products from each their ranges. This is because both incorporate high quality features in their build, as well as looking attractive in design. Plastic sheds are particularly suited to those who want a maintenance free storage solution (as explored in a previous blog), as wood and metal require care such as re-staining or treating rust. Both of these garden buildings fit that bracket, and are maintenance free. They also come with extended UK warranties as a reflection of the high standard of build and materials used.

Lifetime 15×8

Keter Oakland 11×7

Design features we liked in the Lifetime 15×8 Shed include the faux shutters on the windows, and the skylights which are included in the roof of the building to allow light inside. Our preferred features in the Oakland 11×7 included the stunning (and patented) wood-effect textured ‘Duotech’ wall panels. This gives a real contemporary edge to the building; giving the effect of real wood without the maintenance. It’s impossible to separate these two sheds, as each come with an abundance of unique premium features. Whereas we love Keter’s lifetime warranty, it’s hard to shy away from the large size of the Lifetime 15×8. None of Keter’s sheds are as large as this. Lifetime 15×8 Plastic Shed Keter Oakland 11×7 Plastic Shed Country of Origin United States of America Israel Warranty 10 year Limited Warranty Lifetime Limited Warranty Wall Material High Density Polyethylene Plastic Duotech™ Resin/Plastic Wall Thickness 20mm Panels 16mm Double Thick Panels Floor Included Yes Yes Assembly Available? Yes No So if you have a smaller garden, we’d recommend the Keter Oakland 11×7. If you have the space to house a Lifetime 15×8, then this should be a preferred choice as you won’t be short for space. Both are available at GardenStreet, with delivery in around 2-3 weeks.

Can you put shelves up without screws?

Unfortunately, fasteners like nails are necessary to hang up extremely heavy shelves made of dense, solid materials like steel or oak. However, you can use adhesive fasteners to hang up light, hollow shelves made of things like balsa wood. As a general rule, try to hang shelves that weigh 3 lb (1.4 kg) or less.

To hang a shelf with mounting strips, press the Velcro-like sides of your strips together to make pairs, remove 1 liner from each pair to expose their sticky side, and fix the strips to your shelf. Then, remove the remaining liners and press your shelf to the wall. After holding the shelf for 30 seconds, separate the pairs so that 1 side is attached to the wall and the other side is attached to the shelf. Press down on the wall strips for 30 seconds, and let them set for 1 hour before reattaching the shelf to the strips on the wall.
