How do I level ground without excavator?

Spread the soil until it's roughly even with your level-grade line. Use a shovel, landscaping rake, or flat spade to gradually redistribute the soil from higher areas to lower areas until your entire site has a uniform appearance.

Levelling your garden or lawn involves marking the area and flattening it with soil. First, use a power tiller to break up the soil in the area you want to level. Then, mark the area with stakes in each corner and every 2 feet between. Use a carpenter’s bubble level to make sure the tops of the stakes are all at the right height. Once you know the stakes are level, connect the tops using taught string. Fill the area with topsoil up to the string level. After that, water the soil thoroughly and let the dirt settle. When the soil has settled, add more soil until it’s level again and water it. If you want to support a patio or path, top the soil with sand or decomposed stone. Finally, rake the area back and forth to make sure it’s level and remove the stakes. For more tips, including how to level a small area of your garden or lawn, read on!
