Learn More »To begin, let’s talk about why it even matters whether a room in your house is officially a bedroom or not. Bedrooms are a major selling point for homes – an additional bedroom can add thousands of dollars of value to a house. That said, if you’re buying a three-bedroom home, you would probably be very disappointed to find that one of the bedrooms was actually just a closet under the staircase. There are national and local building codes in place to make sure homes aren’t being sold with falsely advertised bedrooms – and also to make sure that the bedrooms that do exist are safe to live and sleep in. Let’s look at a few of the specific requirements a room might need to meet in order to be considered a “real” bedroom.

This is know as the Housing and Urban Development Code (HUD Code). ... Georgia Counties that require Wind Zone 2 Mobile Homes: Chatham County, Georgia. Bryan County, Georgia. Liberty County, Georgia. McIntosh County, Georgia. Glynn County, Georgia. Camden County, Georgia.
Each Georgia mobile and manufactured home must be built according to the federal Manufactured Home Construction and Safety Standards: 24 CFR 3280. This is know as the Housing and Urban Development Code (HUD Code). The HUD Code numbers §3280.305(c)(1) and §3280.305(c)(2)require that all Georgia mobile homes (and those around the USA) shall be constructed to standard of one of three wind load zones. Wind zone design requirements are based on where the mobile/ manufactured home will be located. The higher the wind zone number the more wind pressure a mobile home can withstand. Mobile Homes with high wind zones can be placed in lower wind zone areas (example: a wind zone 3 mobile home in a Georgia wind zone 1 area). However, a Wind Zone I home cannot be installed in either a Wind Zone II or III area. A real life example of this would be tying to move a wind zone one mobile home from a zone one area like Augusta, GA to a wind zone 2 property in an area like Hinesville, GA. Wind Zone I, Wind Zone II are the only wind zone areas found in the state of Georgia. To see which Georgia mobile home wind zone type your county requires check out the list and maps below.
